10 Marvel Television Heroes I'm Desperate To See In The MCU Again After Daredevil (2024)

The heroes of Marvel Television are now more likely than ever to join the MCU after Daredevil: Born Again, and here are the 10 most exciting prospects to do so. After years of theories and speculation, it has finally been confirmed that the story of Daredevil: Born Again will tie into the three seasons of Marvel's Netflix show, Daredevil. Initially, the reboot was set to be exactly that, a new version of the character that reinvents him for the MCU only with several members of Daredevil: Born Again's cast carrying over from the Netflix continuity.

However, after Marvel Studios' TV overhaul, Daredevil: Born Again was confirmed as a continuation of the Netflix show. This means big things for Marvel's upcoming TV shows, with the heroes shown under the banner of Marvel Television now fair game for the MCU to implement. While Marvel Television now covers every aspect of the MCU's highly-ranked TV shows, it used to refer to those that were produced separately by other studios like Netflix. Now, after Daredevil: Born Again, the opportunity for some exciting heroes to be part of the franchise has been strengthened.

10 Ghost Rider

From Agents of SHIELD

Ghost Rider was introduced in Agents of SHIELD season 4. Played by Gabriel Luna, this version of the popular Marvel Comics character was Robbie Reyes rather than the more well-known Johnny Blaze. Overall, the character was classed as one of the stronger elements of Agents of SHIELD season 4, from his personal quest for vengeance to his team-ups with the titular SHIELD team, and would undoubtedly be welcome as a member of the MCU's future.

The MCU and other Marvel movies have shown off a wide variety of powerful supernatural and magical heroes like gods, spellcasters and cursed beings.

Be it the version played by Luna in Agents of SHIELD or another iteration of the popular character, Ghost Rider has a place in the MCU. Phases 4 and 5 of the franchise have fleshed out the supernatural side of the universe, leading many to hope an upcoming Marvel movie will be centered around the Midnight Suns. If this comes to fruition, Ghost Rider is a character who could be transitioned from Marvel Television to the mainline MCU.

9 Quake

From Agents of SHIELD

Another popular character in Agents of SHIELDis Daisy Johnson, aka Quake. Quake is perhaps the standout fan-favorite from the long-running Marvel Television show, primarily due to her transition from a rookie agent of the titular organization to one of the strongest MCU heroes, at least in the realm of TV. Not only that, but Quake has a varied skillset, from being a good hand-to-hand combatant and expert hacker to being a great marksman.

Due to the way her character was developed over seven seasons in Agents of SHIELD, Quake is one of the more popular choices for audiences who desire Marvel TV characters to become part of the MCU. This was highlighted by the intensity of the debunked theories of Quake's Secret Invasion cameo. With Marvel showing no hesitancy to delve into the world of the Inhumans via Black Bolt's cameo in Doctor Strange 2, though, Quake could appear in the franchise's future, an inclusion that would undoubtedly please the many Agents of SHIELD fans.

8 Phil Coulson

From Agents of SHIELD

Originally part of the mainline MCU in Phase 1 until his supposed death in The Avengers, Phil Coulson was brought back for Agents of SHIELD. As a primary character on the show for five seasons, Coulson became one of the more beloved MCU characters that SHIELD fans hope will be folded back into the MCU somehow. While his arc in Agents of SHIELD may have made this unlikely by giving him a strong ending, the MCU's Multiverse Saga opens the door once more.

Whether it be the version from Agents of SHIELD or another from the vast multiverse, Coulson would be one of the more crowd-pleasing cameos in the MCU's future. He could appear to some extent in the multiversal stories of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. This would provide a nice bookend for the character and the franchise, as one of the more popular Phase 1 characters plays a role in Phase 6.

7 Legion

One of the more underrated Marvel Television productions was Legion, an X-Men spin-off. The show centered on the titular character, played by Dan Stephens, and told the story of Professor X's son. The show itself was primarily self-contained, but the character of Legion could play an important role in the MCU's future. Marvel's X-Men movie is in development, and Feige has spoken at length about how the saga after Avengers: Secret Wars will focus heavily on mutants. As the son of Charles Xavier, Legion could be a great inclusion and an integral player.

Another underrated Marvel Television show was Cloak & Dagger. The show was a different kind of Marvel series that focused on the young adult aspects of being superheroes and the personal connection between the two titular characters. The characters have somewhat of a fan-favorite status regarding the source material, as was evident by the reaction to their brief cameos in X-Men '97. If Marvel intends to continue telling different types of stories in the superhero mold, Cloak and Dagger could be the best way to do so.

5 Colleen Wing

From Iron Fist

Iron Fist has long been considered the worst-ranked Marvel Netflix show, though it is not without its standout elements. One such element was Colleen Wing, the love interest of Danny Rand and a fantastic character in her own right. Played perfectly by Jessica Henwick, Colleen Wing was arguably a better main character in Iron Fist than Danny Rand was, even transitioning to take the titular mantle from Danny by the end of season 2.

The MCU Better Not Be Retconning The Best Thing Netflix's Most Divisive Marvel Show Ever Did

Following a new tease about a possible hero return, there is a chance that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be walking back on a shocking event.

This ending, alongside the friendship Colleen struck up with Misty Knight, led many to be excited about her future. Colleen and Misty are known as the Daughters of the Dragon in Marvel Comics, with audiences desiring this team-up before Netflix's Defenders shows were canceled. Now that Daredevil: Born Again is bringing the Netflix universe back into canon, Colleen could follow suit, capitalizing on the tantalizing ending to her character arc from Iron Fist season 2.

4 Misty Knight

From Luke Cage

As alluded to above, Misty Knight was another stand-out in the Defenders saga. She was one of the best elements of Luke Cage and her relationship with Colleen as the potential Daughters of the Dragon sadly never came to fruition. If the MCU brings back Misty alongside Colleen, however, her future could be put back on track. With the street-level elements of the MCU coming to the fore with Daredevil: Born Again, Misty would be an overly exciting inclusion.

3 Iron Fist

From Iron Fist

Iron Fist is undoubtedly the most divisive Marvel Netflix show. With Daredevil: Born Again bringing back the Defenders saga characters, audiences have been theorizing which others could follow suit. Oftentimes, it is argued that Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Punisher should be part of the MCU, yet Iron Fist tends to be left out.

If the MCU used Iron Fist once more, it would be exciting to see how Marvel Studios would fix the issues that plagued the Netflix show...

The reason for this is the weak portrayal of Danny Rand in Netflix's Iron Fist and how that did not aid Finn Jones' portrayal of him. As such, having Iron Fist back in the MCU could work as a means of redemption. Theories have been crafted that he could be folded into the story of Shang-Chi, which is certainly intriguing. If the MCU used Iron Fist once more, it would be exciting to see how Marvel Studios would fix the issues that plagued the Netflix show.

2 Luke Cage

From Luke Cage

Above every other character in Netflix's Defenders saga timeline, Luke Cage was left off in the most intriguing place. Daredevil and Jessica Jones provided their titular characters with somewhat definitive endings, but Luke Cage's final episode before its cancelation promised big things going forward. For this reason alone, bringing Luke Cage back into the MCU would be fantastic.

A Heroes for Hire team-up between Luke Cage and Iron Fist could also work brilliantly in the MCU.

The ending of Luke Cage saw him take control of Harlem's Paradise, becoming somewhat of a crime lord like Cottonmouth and Mariah Stokes were before him. Although he was committed to improving Harlem, he was still negotiating with other criminals and a rift between him and Misty Knight was teased. All of this was incredibly exciting, and it'd be amazing to see the future of this storyline play out in the MCU given how great Mike Coulter is as the titular Luke Cage.

1 Jessica Jones

From Jessica Jones

The final Marvel Television character that could now be part of the MCU after Daredevil: Born Again is Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones is regarded as one of Netflix's better Marvel shows after Daredevil, with the character herself matching this reputation. Jessica Jones has been rumored to have a cameo in Daredevil: Born Again, which would certainly make sense given the connection she and Matt Murdock formed in The Defenders.

Predicting 10 MCU Cameos That Could Be In Daredevil: Born Again After Charlie Cox's Recent Comments

Charlie Cox has hinted at there being several cameo appearances from past MCU characters in Daredevil: Born Again, and there are many possibilities.

1

If Jessica Jones does not appear in Daredevil: Born Again, the show at least gives the option for Marvel Studios to utilize the character in the future. Krysten Ritter was fantastic as Jessica, which could only improve in the MCU. The Netflix show took a more grounded approach to her character and forewent the more explicit superhero elements from the comics. Given that the MCU has long proven to - and will continue to with Daredevil: Born Again - not shy away from superheroic aspects, Jessica could be one of many Marvel Television characters that would benefit from being included.
